POLICE have laid charges against a member of the Brothers For Life street gang who allegedly smuggled a razor blade into court — hidden in his mouth — and used it to try attack his co-defendants.

Officers from the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad laid affray charges against the 25-year-old man on November 15.

The incident was one of several fights that occurred during the year-length trial of the Qaumi brothers, which saw a number of fights, a dozen rollover witnesses give evidence, and ended in a slew of guilty verdicts against the gang’s leaders last month.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said the affray charge related to an incident on February 12 during pre-trial hearings.

It’s alleged the 25-year-old threw a punch during the fight which hit one of the Qaumi brothers standing trial with him in the back of the head.

“A razor blade was recovered following the alleged affray,” the police spokeswoman said. “He [the 25-year-old] is expected to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on 19 January 2017 in relation to the incident.”

The reasons behind the alleged attack, along with the full story of the Brothers For Life street gang and their downfall, are revealed in a special online feature, WARLORD: From refugee to supervillain, which not only follows his journey from an Afghan refugee at just seven years old to Sydney supervillain but also contains haunting audio and police interviews like these below.
