Anzac Day weather: when it will rain

Anzac Day rain is unlikely to fall until late morning or early afternoon on Friday - meaning the sacred Dawn Service should remain dry.
The soggy conditions experienced in Sydney earlier in the week are set to “contract” north later on Thursday, according to Bureau meteorologist Miriam Bradbury.
“[There is] a risk of locally heavy rainfalls for parts of the Mid-North Coast,” she said.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast for Friday a 10 per cent chance of rain from 4am to 6am in Sydney, when at 4.20am service attendees will gather at Martin Place. At 10am the chance of rain will increase to 20 per cent.
It will be slightly cloudy with the chance of a thunderstorm later in the day, and in the western suburbs fog is expected in the early morning.
At North Bondi - home to one of the country’s most iconic commemorations - there is a 20 per cent chance of rain at 6am as its service begins.
Similar conditions are expected in the early morning at Newcastle and the Central Coast, whereas at Wollongong there is a 10 per cent chance of rain.
At Coffs Harbour conditions will be wetter with a 50 per cent chance of rain throughout the day.
It will be warm across the state on Friday with a maximum temperature of 25C in Sydney and Newcastle and 24C in Coffs Harbour and Wollongong.
Those unbothered by potentially wet weather and wishing to mark the day in a fun and traditional way can use the opportunity to play two-up, which is only legal on Anzac Day.
