In Australia, one of the most cherished and iconic Anzac Day traditions is a spirited game of two-up — a simple yet rowdy coin-flipping bet that comes alive once a year in pubs and clubs across the country.
From the inner city to the coast and suburbs, The Daily Telegraph has rounded up the best spots in Sydney to experience the buzz of two-up this year.

THE CITY
The Clock Hotel, Surry Hills
The Clock in Surry Hills is preparing for what they call their “biggest event of the year.”
Last year, more than 1000 punters packed the venue, with lines wrapping around the block and once again they are closing the street next door to host a pop-up barbecue, bar, and outdoor arena — all in support of Legacy.
“It was one of my career highlights,” said General Manager Hannah Geary.
“We’re hoping for an even bigger turnout this year. We are going to have every single staff member on the books to facilitate the day, it’s going to be huge.”
Cargo Bar, Darling Harbour
Cargo will be serving $10 Breakfast Burgers from 11am until sold out. From 12pm to 6pm, test your luck and join in the action for a classic game of two-up, hosted by Patrick Derrig.
Bungalow 8, Sydney
Open from 10am, kick off the day with bacon egg rolls — free for all active service members and veterans. Plus, stick around for one of the biggest two-up rings in Darling Harbour, playing all afternoon.
The Winery, Surry Hills
Back by popular demand, The Winery’s two-up ring returns from 2–5pm hosted by
iconic Sydney Drag Queen, Bettie Blackheart.
BrewDog, South Eveleigh
The two-up ring will be in action from 12pm – 5pm, with two hosts ensuring the excitement continues throughout the afternoon. Everyone is welcome, so bring along the whole family, including your four-legged friends – BrewDog is a dog-friendly venue throughout.
Taphouse, Darlinghurst
Taphouse will open its doors early for a day full of good times and great vibes.
Head to the Darlo corner pub from 11am for an action-packed day featuring two-up,
mouth-watering Chinese food specials, and a lively atmosphere. Taphouse will also donate $1 from every FELLR watermelon seltzer and Young Henrys Natural Lager to Legacy.
The Dolphin, Surry Hills
This Surry institution claims to be home to the largest two-up ring in the area, with games kicking off from noon.
The Beresford Hotel, Surry Hills
The venue will be kicking off festivities at 1pm with two-up hosted by drag queen Maxi Shield.
Forrester’s, Surry Hills
Forrester’s will open its doors early for a day filled with activities, including
two-up, pub beats, and delicious eats. Two-Up will be kicking off at 12pm
and continuing until sundown, with DJ sets from 6.30pm until late.
THE EAST
Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel
Free entry all day, doors will open at 11am, with two-up starting at 12pm sharp. Enjoy the action both inside and outside, with two-up on the street running all day long. Military Rd will be closed off to create a street party atmosphere, complete with pop-up bars and a
barbecue for punters to enjoy while soaking up the vibes.
The Clovelly Hotel, Clovelly
Doors will open at 9am with two-up from 10am in the courtyard.
Watson’s at The Entertainment Quarter
From 10am, they are serving up all the post-march vibes with cold drinks, classic Aussie pub fare, and all your favourite traditions. Whether you’re fuelling up before the big clash or settling in for the day, Watson’s is your go-to spot.
Coogee Bay Hotel, Coogee
For those in the East, Coogee Bay Hotel will honour the Anzac spirit with a full day of community, remembrance, and celebration. The day continues with a huge game of two-up in Selina’s, while the rest of the venue welcomes locals and visitors alike to share stories, raise a glass and gather with community.
The Golden Sheaf, Double Bay
Anzac Day at the Sheaf is back better than ever this year, with the day beginning with bagpipes at 10am, followed by the biggest two-up, hosted in the Sheaf’s sunny beer garden.
Woolly Bay Hotel, Woolloomooloo
From 10am – 2pm, enjoy $5 VB schooners for all who have served. In addition, indulge in a range of Anzac Day food specials and raise a glass in tribute to their service and sacrifice. Two-Up kicks off at 12pm, followed by live music from 3pm.
Light Brigade, Woollahra
The historic Light Brigade in Woollahra will open its doors at 10am, with Two-Up kicking off at 12pm.
Woollahra Hotel, Woollahra
The iconic Woollahra pub will swing open its doors at 9am, with Two-Up
upstairs on the Terrace from midday. The day will feature DJs and LIVE entertainment from 4pm.
THE NORTH
The Mona, Mona Vale
Kick off the day with the tradition of Two-Up from 12pm, and stay to catch the NRL on big screens throughout the sprawling Northern Beaches pub, ensuring no moment of the action is missed.
Freshwater’s Harbord Diggers, Freshwater
Freshwater’s Harbord Diggers is back for another year with a portion of proceeds from tickets to be donated to Frontline Labs.
Popular ringmaster, Matty V Vandenbergh, returns to host the game, bringing an unmatched atmosphere as thousands gather around the scenic two-up ring.
Felons Manly, Manly
The venue will be kicking off from 9am, with Two-up running all day on the jetty, plus live music, limited release beers, and one of Sydney’s best sunset views.
Harbord Hotel, Freshwater
The beloved Freshie boozer, has been hosting two-up for decades, and is one of our favourite spots to head to on Anzac Day. The car park gets packed from the morning until dusk, so get down there early.
The Newport, Newport
The event kicks off at noon, with Two-up games starting on the deck from 1pm, DJs spinning from midday, and Anzac biscuits available at the cafe.
Greenwood Hotel, North Sydney
The event kicks off at 10:30am, with two-up starting from the same time — and as a bonus, this mega pub claims to host North Sydney’s largest two-up ring.
THE SOUTH
Plough & Ale, Calderwood
Enjoy a selection of Anzac Day food specials crafted to mark the occasion and raise a glass in appreciation of their service and sacrifice with two-up from 12pm until late.
Crossroads Hotel, Casula
Crossroads Hotel in Casula is keeping things easy – cold drinks, live sport and a great atmosphere. There will be live DJ bringing the tunes, the NRL live loud on the big screens, a massive two-up arena, and the bistro pumping serving all the pub classics.
Oran Park Hotel, Oran Park
Kick off he day with $12 Bacon Egg rolls from 8am, and enjoy $8 beers, with 50 per cent of all proceeds donated to Legacy. Commemorate the Anzacs with two-up from midday, followed by DJs in the Atrium from 3pm and live music in the Sports Bar from 6pm.
INNER-WEST
Red Lion Hotel, Rozelle
Rozelle’s beloved local will open doors from 10am to honour the courage and sacrifice of our servicemen and women. Keep tradition alive with a lively game of two-up from 12pm.
The Sackville, Rozelle
Join the crowd in the car park for one of Sydney’s favourite and largest two-up rings. The action kicks off at midday and goes ‘til sundown, with an Anzac Day menu, tinnie bars, and live music and DJs to keep the vibes rolling.
Public House Petersham
Join the Public House Petersham team as they transform their car park into a 2UP arena, kicking off from midday until sundown. They will have grandstands, live music, tap bars, NRL live loud and food specials. Raising money for Legacy – $1 from every VB sold will be donated plus they will be collecting donations throughout the venue all day.
WEST
Albion Hotel, Parramatta
Albies is home to the biggest outdoor two-up arena in Parramatta. For the third year running, two-up will be held in the carpark from 12pm and the pub will be bringing the vibes with live entertainment and food specials all day. To support veterans, they will be donating $1 from every VB sold to Legacy.
The Fiddler, Rouse Hill
Two-up kicks off at noon, and with a massive beer garden and DJs spinning Aussie classics all afternoon and into the night, The Fiddler is set for a big day.
The Australian Hotel & Brewery, Rouse Hill
Anzac Day at The Australian Hotel Brewery is one for the families – enjoy a great day out with two-up running, delicious meals served all day and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere with lots of activities for kids to entertain themselves plus a massive indoor play centre.
The Log Cabin, Penrith
In partnership with Tooheys New, Red Bull, and Smirnoff Vodka, this free all-
day event promises a celebration of remembrance, mateship and Aussie spirit. From two-up
kicking off at 12pm to the after-party from 5pm, plus Kids’ TumbleTown from 11am, there’s
something for everyone.
Marsden Brewhouse, Marsden Park
This year, Marsden Brewhouse invites everyone to commemorate with a full day of special events, including a two-up ring in the outdoor beer garden from 12pm to 5pm, live music from 1pm, the annual Roosters v Dragons game shown live and loud on the big screens, and a DJ spinning all your favourite tunes from 5:30pm.
Carousel Inn, Rooty Hill
The pub’s huge two-up arena will be returning to the carpark from 12pm hosted by Plumpton Glendenning Cricket Club. There promises to be live music, food specials, plus multiple bars located both indoors and outdoors with $1 from every VB sold on the day being donated to Legacy.
