The brother of a bikie who was killed in the wild Sydney Airport brawl has been charged with assaulting his much younger girlfriend.
Peter Zervas, 44, allegedly attacked the 22-year-old woman as they travelled together in a car at Woodbine, southwest of Sydney, on Sunday, June 20.
The heavily-tattooed man is alleged to have hit her a number of times in the face with his left hand, while continuing to control the car with his right arm.
Zervas’ girlfriend allegedly suffered a laceration above her eye and reported the incident to Campbelltown Police once home that morning.
Officers arrested Zervas at an address in Minto last Wednesday and charged him with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Zervas’ brother Anthony was killed during the Sydney Airport bikie brawl in March 2009.
Anthony, 29, was bashed and stabbed to death during the fight with members of the Comanchero OMCG.
Six members of the Comanchero – including slain former boss Mick Hawi – were convicted over his death.
Two weeks after his brother had been killed inside the domestic airport terminal, Zervas was shot six times outside his apartment but miraculously survived.
Zervas appeared in Campbelltown Local Court last week over the domestic violence charge and was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on July 6.
