The Snitch: WA Police told to wait their turn for wanted bikie
Comanchero turned Bandido Mohamad “Mick” Hijazi is quite popular as the Western Australia Police Force discovered when they were told to come back another time on a recent visit to NSW.

Everyone wants a piece of bikie Mohamad “Mick” Hijazi at the moment – but just not in the way he would like.
The Comanchero turned Bandido has been at the centre of a tug of war between NSW and Western Australian police.
Earlier this year, the Criminal Groups Squad tried to slap a Serious Crime Prevention Order on Hijazi over alleged ties to organised crime.
But there was a queue.
The Campbelltown District Court was waiting to deal with Hijazi, a former Comanchero boss, on a firearm charge.
And WA Police were chomping at the bit to get their hands on him too. The Perth detectives applied for an extradition warrant in April to have Hijazi sent across the country to be charged with drug supply and money laundering.
But the NSW Supreme Court put a hold on that and ruled WA Police would have to wait until Hijazi went to trial in Campbelltown this month.
The ink had barely dried on Hijazi’s guilty plea to a firearms charge on June 10 when an eager WA Police team turned up in NSW.
“The attendance of WA Police into NSW is premature,” Judge Helen Wilson said in a judgment.
WA Police boarded a return flight empty-handed with Judge Wilson ruling Hijazi, who was on bail, still had to see out any potential prison term stemming from the firearm charge.
Looks like Hijazi will be well into old age before the Criminal Groups Squad get their turn.
POWER COUPLE
The State Crime Command has a new senior power couple.
The newly promoted Detective Superintendent Jayne Doherty took over as the boss of the
Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad on Friday.
A 30-year veteran of the force, she is married to Homicide Squad commander Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty.
LOVE is in the air
And there we were, our collective hearts bursting and full of love – the cold-hearted legal fraternity was starting to resemble a rom-com.
There was barrister Arthur Moses SC and Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirming long-held suspicions that they are going steady.
Slightly less romantic was soldier Ben Roberts-Smith who denied being in a relationship with his solicitor Monica Allen (but come on, how else do we interpret pics of the two holding hands on a bike-riding outing in Brisbane?).
Could it get any better?
Well, then the news broke that federal MP Christian Porter’s new lawyer girlfriend was expanding her Sydney practice to open a branch in Canberra.
But alas, solicitor Karen Espiner would not confirm that she would be moving to Canberra to be closer to Mr Porter when her firm, Younes + Espiner, teams up with fellow firm McKenna Taylor.
She was coy though, so there is still a chance. “All will be revealed soon,” Ms Espiner said.
We’re not crying, you’re crying.
LAWYER X-RATED
We hate to see anyone wrongly accused. So Snitch would like to point out that lawyer Zali Burrows was not the mystery female lawyer who was sprung sending nude selfies to crime boss Bassam Hamzy.
Ms Burrows is Hamzy’s current lawyer and we can’t imagine she would get involved in that sort of caper.
THE RESULTS ARE IN
We asked you last week what should the single entity name be for Berejiklian and Moses now that they are officially an item.
The overwhelmingly popular response was for “Mo-Jikkers”.
The tag just beat out the more conservative sounding “Glarthur”.
A source close to the couple even reported that “Mo Jikkers” had been heard coming from the mouths of those who walk the corridors of power.
