Wild died in hospital on May 16, a Corrective Services NSW spokeswoman told AAP on Tuesday.

The Daily Telegraph reported Wild had a brain tumour.

His case was due before Central Local Court on Tuesday but magistrate Clare Farnan was handed documents stating there would be no further proceedings because Wild was dead.

She consequently withdrew and dismissed the murder charge against him.
