A young man involved in a bizarre love triangle murder at Bondi last year has died in jail from a brain tumour before he could face trial.
Milo Wild, 27, was accused of stabbing Jordon Byrne in a flat after the pair got in an argument over a woman they both knew who was there during the violent encounter.
Wild was with his new girlfriend, Emma Thompson, when the pair went back to his Military Road flat after a night out on August 26.
When they arrived at the flat Mr Byrne was there with a woman.
Just after midnight, neighbours heard two males screaming before Wild allegedly plunged a knife into Mr Byrne’s stomach nearly disembowelling him.
Mr Byrne, 26, staggered out of the flat where horrified neighbours worked to stop the bleeding until an ambulance arrived.
He died during surgery a few hours later.
Wild, who had a troubled youth and had been jailed in the Northern Territory, died in a prison hospital on Thursday from a brain tumour.
His murder trial was expected to start some time later this year.
It was expected that Wild’s jealousy was the motive for the killing of Mr Byrne.
Mr Byrne had previously had a relationship with Ms Thompson.
