Child sex offender Michael Guider to walk free from prison this week

Killer paedophile Michael Guider will adhere to an extensive list of conditions when he is released from Long Bay jail on Thursday or he risks heading straight back to the prison he’s called home for 17 years.

Guider will walk free tomorrow on a strict five-year supervision order 33 years after Samantha Knight was kidnapped from Bondi, drugged and killed.

The nine-year-old’s body as never been found and Samantha’s mother Tess Knight led the public push to keep Guider behind bars.

GUIDER’S PHD PLAN AFTER JAIL DEGREE

On Tuesday, Supreme Court judge Richard Button ruled to release Guider anyway, but the 68-year-old will be bound by 56 conditions under the supervision order.

The conditions require Guider to wear electronic monitoring equipment. He must also supply a weekly schedule of movements which he cannot deviate from except in an emergency.

Guider will live in a half-way house adjacent to the jail with a nightly curfew between 10pm and 6am and he cannot have guests.

He won’t be able to venture near schools, cinemas, libraries and museums, camping areas, children’s playgrounds or any sporting facilities.

Guider won’t be allowed to consume alcohol or socialise wityh anyone while they are drinking.

He must not access any form of pornography and his departmental supervising officer will have access to any and all electronic devices Guider possesses.

Guider is not allowed to get a haircut or shave his beard without the express permission of his supervisor and must allow new photographs of himself to be taken if he does so.

If Guider ceases to take his prescribed anti-libidinal medication he must notify the authorities within 24 hours.

Attorney-General Mark Speakman said Guider would be watched like a hawk upon his release.

“Ideally, he would be in jail,” Mr Speakman said. “We have done the best we can to try to keep him detained and failing that, have him under very strict conditions.

“He will be supervised incredibly closely and we will watch him like a hawk.”

One of Guider’s surviving victims Lisa Giles issued a stern warning to the public following the court decision to release the killer.

“A child molester and a child killer will be released among us this week,” she told reporters on Tuesday.
