30 firefighters called to fire at plush Burwood home

The roof of a Burwood home is a crumbling, smouldering mess after its attic caught alight on Friday afternoon. Eight fire crews brought the fire under control.

The roof of a plush inner west home has been left a smouldering mess a fire took over in the home.

About 30 firefighters were called to the property on Minna St, Burwood about 12.45pm.

Shortly after they arrived the eight crews were able to bring the blaze under control.

Police and NSW Fire and Rescue are investigating the cause of the fire, which damaged the roof of the home after it started in the attic.

No one was inside at the time, NSW Fire and Rescue said, and the owners could be seen going in to retrieve belongings on Friday afternoon.
