MUCH has been said of 2DayFM’s bizarre decision to broadcast it’s Sydney breakfast show from Melbourne, but day one of the Em Rusciano Radio show with Harley Breen saw a clear divide between Rusciano and her audience.
But a quick check of the weather made it clear the Melbourne-based comedian was far away from Sydney.
“It would suck to be you because it’s going to be about 1,000 degrees,” she said of the forecast for western Sydney.
Whats more, a call for listeners to ring in seemed to fall on deaf ears, with the second “caller” being the show’s video producer giving results of a Twitter poll.
Meanwhile, Kyle and Jackie O’s first day back on air saw the shockjock crow over Rove McManus’ demise.
“I was delighted to hear he was given the arse. It’s bittersweet, because I feel for anyone that loses their job, but he should’ve known better,” he said.
“They [Southern Cross Austereo] should just put a for sale sign out the front, and forget it.”
Comedy duo Em Rusciano and Harley Breen replace the ill-fated Rove McManus and Sam Frost who were axed from the prime time breakfast gig earlier this month over poor ratings
SCA announced the pair would be dumped from the slot after deciding it was “the best way forward” to move them into the quiet 7pm-8pm program.
The pair were brought in by SCA in a bid to boost the Network’s ratings since Kyle and Jackie O moved to KIIS FM in 2014.
But the duo languished at the bottom of the FM dial since their show started in November 2015.
