Nomthandazo Nozwhelo Mkhwebu, 23, was due to face the Darwin Local Court on charges of contravening an emergency declaration, spitting on a worker and assault on Monday.

Mkhwebu initially turned up at court where she was spotted by the press pack and after an unsuccessful attempt to hide from the cameras she left.

Following the no show, judge Michael Carey issued a warrant for Mkhwebu’s arrest.

Police allege Mkhwebu was at the Tap Bar on Mitchell St in the early hours of July 4 without wearing a mask.

A security guard asked her to wear one and she allegedly refused and was removed from the venue, before an altercation in which Mkhwebu allegedly spat in a staff member’s face.
