A MAN who held up staff at a Gold Coast Chinese eatery with scissors and fled with a loaded cash till has been arrested by police.
Police allege that at 1pm, a man armed with scissors entered The Jasmine Room – a second floor Chinese restaurant in Southport’s Sundale Precinct on Como Crescent.
The man then threatened staff and stole the till containing cash, before fleeing on foot, according to police.
No one was injured during the armed hold up.
Police attended the scene and found the man and the till nearby – close to the Southport Broadwater – where they arrested him.
