Corey

How did you meet?

We met when I sent my puppy out on my front lawn to grab her attention.

What was the first thing you noticed about her?

I noticed her amazing legs and her infectious smile.

When did you first know it was love?

I knew it was love when she rode my billycart down the hill with only one way to stop – crashing into the garden.

What was your most standout date?

Margaux organised a gondola ride in the Brisbane River, it was freezing cold and rubbish food. We went for dinner after.

What is the most romantic thing your partner has ever done for you?

The most romantic thing would be the calendar she posed in for me.

What is the secret to a happy marriage?

Set aside time for date nights.

Who puts the bins out?

I put the bins out.

What is the thing you argue the most about?

We argue over a lot of things.

What do you find the most annoying about each other?

Nothing annoys me about her.

Who does the most cooking?

I do.

How has having children affected your relationship?

I love the fact that she cares for everyone, always wants to make people feel happy. Having kids has made me love her much more, she is an unbelievable mother.

Margaux

How did you meet?

Out the front of his house, my girlfriend was his neighbour. He shooed his dog out to get our attention and he got me hook, line and sinker!

What was the first thing you noticed about him?

He had really kind eyes and a great smile. Plus, he may have answered the door in a pair of footy shorts with no shirt on.

When did you first know it was love?

I think straight away I knew it was different to how I had felt about other guys I’d met or dated. We said “I love you” after just a few months and moved in together after three months.

What was your most standout date?
I’d have to agree with the gondola ride, it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, the Brisbane River is definitely not the canals of Venice.

What is the most romantic thing your partner has ever done for you?

He’s actually really thoughtful, especially around our anniversary time. He always goes above and beyond when it comes to how he delivers a gift. One time he had secret clues all around the house with some kind of bronze theme, which was the anniversary for eight years’ married, so he had eight clues which led me to a beautiful bronze bracelet.

What is the secret to a happy marriage?

Understanding that you won’t always be happy and that change and growth as an individual and as a couple is integral. Feeling supported and being supportive, talking it out and no name calling.

Who puts the bins out?

Corey and the kids.

What is the thing you argue the most about?

Money. I’m a spender, he’s a saver.

What do you find the most annoying about each other?

He’s a big communicator but I’m a big doer, just keep moving forward. I’m glad he pulls me up, however, to sit and talk it out – kids, work, friends, family, finance etc, otherwise I bottle everything up and implode once or twice a year.

Who does the most cooking?

I would say Corey is the most motivated one to cook, I hate deciding what’s for dinner and then the kids say they don’t like it or don’t want it! So I let him battle it out.

What is the trait you like most about him?

He’s really considerate and reminds me to be kind to myself, he’s always encouraging me and supporting my spontaneity.

How has having children affected your relationship?

I think most definitely for the better, it has taught us to be more patient, to love more unconditionally. We are both so incredibly proud of all our children, they are really smart, fun, kind kids and super competitive just like their mum and dad!
