Police are searching for a man who is believed to have left the scene before they arrived where a woman was shot at a property on the Gold Coast.
Linley Anyos, 33, was shot in the back while sitting in the passenger seat of a car at a property on Trees Dr, Tallebudgera at about 12pm on Wednesday.
Police believe the shot was discharged from the back seat of the vehicle.
Ms Anyos was rushed to Gold Coast Hospital in critical condition, where she remained on Thursday, with family by her bedside.
On Friday afternoon, in a latest development, specialist police from the Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) executed a search warrant at an industrial premises on Bailey Crescent in Ashmore.
Police sources have confirmed the operation was part of their ongoing investigation into Wednesday shooting.
The Bulletin understands police are looking to speak to a man who was at the property when Ms Anyos was shot but left before emergency services arrived.
It is believed the man was known to the victim, but the relationship between the pair is unclear.
It’s understood he left the scene in another vehicle shortly after the incident.
The weapon involved in the incident has not yet been located. However detectives have not ruled out the possibility that the shooting was accidental.
A large number of people had visited the Trees Rd property on Wednesday, looking to pick up items advertised on Facebook Marketplace.
It is understood the items had been advertised because residents were moving out of the property.
Police said a large number of people who had been at the property at the time of the shooting had provided witness statements.
They appealed for anyone else who may have visited to come forward.
Speaking at the scene on Wednesday, Detective Inspector Mark Mooney said it was understood the car Ms Anyos was sitting in had been at the scene for some time before she was shot.
“It would appear that the victim has been sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle and has been shot through the seat,” he said.
“My understanding is the car’s been parked in the same location for a couple of hours.
“She arrived on scene with a couple of our witnesses who were assisting (people) move out.”
While neither the alleged firearm or shooter had been found, Detective Inspector Mooney said there was no cause for public concern.
“I don’t think there’s any need to alarm the community with this. At this point in time the exact occurrence of what’s happened (is) unknown to us. We obviously recommend that our community stay vigilant,” he said.

Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was left fighting for her life in hospital following a shooting at a southern Gold Coast property.
The 33-year-old woman was sitting in the passenger seat of a car at a Trees Rd, Tallebudgera address at about 12pm on Wednesday when she was shot in the back.
Speaking at the scene Detective Inspector Mark Mooney said the woman had suffered very serious injuries.
“It’s going to be a complex investigation, we have engaged the homicide squad at this point in time, because the victim’s injuries are critical,” he said.
“We don’t know at this point in time whether she’ll survive.”
Detective Inspector Mooney said the woman had been shot in the back through a car seat and the firearm used had not yet been located.
“The female victim was shot whilst in a vehicle that’s been parked at this address. That vehicle has not been searched at this point in time,” he said.
He said police suspected the gunshot had come from within the vehicle.
“Our forensic examination of the vehicle is still to be conducted, but it would appear that the victim has been sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle and has been shot through the seat,” he said.
“My understanding is the car’s been parked in the same location for a couple of hours.
“She arrived on scene with a couple of our witnesses who were assisting (people) move out.”
Detective Inspector Mooney said a person who was living at the address had been moving out on Wednesday, with a number of people attending the address to collect items advertised on Facebook marketplace.
Those people were said to be co-operating with police inquiries.
“At this point in time we don’t know who the shooter is. There were multiple people at the address collecting property,” he said.
“There was an ad placed on marketplace for people to come and collect property for free.
“We understand (occupiers) were moving out today hence the number of people that were coming and going from the address.
“We’d like to speak to anyone that was present to give us any information that we don’t yet have.”
The woman remains in a critical condition at Gold Coast University Hospital. Detective Inspector Mooney said while neither the alleged firearm or shooter had been found, there was no cause for public concern.
“I don’t think there’s any need to alarm the community with this. At this point in time the exact occurrence of what’s happened (is) unknown to us. We obviously recommend that our community stay vigilant,” he said.
Detective Inspector Mooney said police were pursuing every line of inquiry, including the possibility that the shooting was accidental.
“We don’t have any clear witnesses at this point in time. So we’re obviously asking anyone that was possibly around that we haven’t spoken to come forward,” he said.
“Everyone’s been very compliant this point in time.
“There are eight to 10 people that have gone back to one of our stations to provide statements.
“We’re also chasing people that were here prior to that, people that may have seen something or heard something or spoke to certain individuals while they were here, or had video or CCTV cameras.”
Three ambulance crews, including the specialist high acuity response unit, treated the woman at the scene.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the shot woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a life-threatening condition.
In comments on social media, nearby residents reported seeing “nearly a dozen police and six ambulances” at the Trees Rd address.
“A police van came screaming past us on the windy, blind corners on Old Coach Rd. Scared the beejesus out of us all,” Glennis Ford said.
“It doesn’t sound good at all,” Kym Hamilton added.
