Pair arrested following alleged armed robbery in Southport
Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery on the Gold Coast in which a woman was reportedly threatened with a gun. Read what happened.

A woman has allegedly been threatened with a weapon during an early morning armed robbery at Southport.
Police were called to Baratta Street, not far from the GoldlinQ light rail depot about 1am on Monday, shortly after the victim was allegedly threatened and had her handbag stolen.
Gold Coast Superintendent Brett Jackson said: “There was reports of a handgun (produced) however police have not yet recovered a weapon.
“A male and female decamped. The police dog squad attend that location and were able to perform a track.
“Police now have a male and female in custody who are assisting with inquiries.”
Investigators are still working to determine what unfolded in the lead-up to the alleged armed robbery. The victim was not injured in the incident and no charges have been laid.
