Pacific Airshow Gold Coast director Kevin Elliott says the “best is yet to come” as Australia’s biggest three-day aerial spectacular returns.

Mr Elliott said his show which drew a crowd of 400,000 last year will have even more entertainment this year – with soon-to-be revealed Australian firsts.

“The first year was establishing the event, year two was making some strategic enhancements and expanding that out, and this year we’re really focusing on enhancing that on-ground experience and programming,” he said.

Mr Elliott said the aim had always been to bring new experiences each year eclipsing the audience expectations.

“This year we will have many exciting new additions both on the ground and in the air,” he said. “We’ve added a whole bunch of new ticket types, some yet to be released. We’re really just bringing more of what everybody has come to expect and trying to create a little something for everybody from the entry-level tickets all the way up to the highest level hospitality.”

A new beach Garden Bar offering “cool-casual vibes” in the thick of the Surfers Paradise action will be part of this year’s hospitality offerings, plus private cabanas and chalets - and shared options the Beach Club and Oasis.

Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said this year’s airshow was tipped to generate $33 million in overnight visitor expenditure, with more than 22,000 people landing in Queensland specifically for the airshow.

“The Pacific Airshow has taken off as one of the most anticipated events in Queensland, as a 1.5 kilometre stretch of the Gold Coast is packed with an estimated 270,000 spectators having the time of their life,” Minister Powell said.

Tickets from $55 for the August 15-17 event go on sale on Wednesday via pacificairshow.com.
