Firefighters have managed to tame a blaze which broke out in roughly the same area as the major Gold Coast hinterland bushfires in 2019.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews were called to Lamington National Park Rd at Canungra just after midday on Tuesday, a spokesman said.
Five vehicles, including two urban units and three rural units from Canungra, were still fighting the fire at 12.50pm.
However, the fire was contained and firefighters were dampening the ground in an attempt to stop the blaze spreading.
No homes or other infrastructure were in the firing line at the time.
The fire was extinguished by about 2pm on Tuesday, a spokesman confirmed.
