Emergency services were called to a central Gold Coast suburb early this morning after a trespasser was reported to be seen climbing on the 18th floor of a skyscraper.

Emergency services were called to Surfers Paradise early on Friday morning after a trespasser was reported to be seen climbing on the 18th floor of the skyscraper.
Gold Coast police and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) were called to The Esplanade in the tourist hot spot about 2am.
It was reported the man was scaling the 40-storey BreakFree Imperial Surf high-rise, which is one of the tallest buildings in the city at 116 metres.
Police officers were unable to locate the ”trespasser” seen on the 18th storey, a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.
Three QFES crews was called to The Esplanade to assist, a spokeswoman said.
The rescuers were not needed and stood down.
