An Australian injured in the 2002 Bali bombings has spoken out about the imminent release of one of those behind the terror attacks.
On Friday Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the Federal Government would raise concerns with Indonesia after Bali bomber Umar Patek was granted parole.
Patek has served just half of a 20-year sentence for his role in the 2002 terror attacks which killed 202 people, including 88 Australians.
A Gold Coast local and Bali bombing survivor, Andrew Csabi, said he was hurt and disappointed by the decision to free Patek.
“I’ve lost friends, family, my left leg, and partial right foot,” he posted to Facebook.
“With the imminent release of yet another convicted Bali bomber i’m concerned.
“Although this only galvanises my resilience to prove we are bigger and stronger.
“We are not murderers or violent by nature unless provoked.
“We are united in our love for each other regardless of nationality.
“These are my personal thoughts as a Bali bombing survivor, not a victim.
“If you need me I am here for you,” he said.
