Victoria Police, paramedics attend incident in Corio after woman found dead on Purnell Rd

A woman who was found dead on a Corio road on Saturday has been identified.

A woman found dead on a Corio street on Saturday morning has been identified as a 25-year-old from Norlane.

Police and paramedics were called to the incident about 9.15am.

The woman was found dead on Purnell Rd, according to a Victoria Police spokeswoman.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.

Witnesses reported major delays in the area with the road blocked between the Geelong Ring Rd and Bacchus Marsh Rd.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed the incident.
