Police probe Norlane hit and run that left one man hospitalised

It's understood a car bearing false plates collided with a pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

Police are probing a hit and run incident that left a man with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to Plume Street in Norlane about 6.30pm on Tuesday where police officers were told a car bearing false plates had collided with a pedestrian before driving off.

A Victoria Police spokesman said “the pedestrian, believed to be a man in his 50s, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.”

An air ambulance could be seen parked close to the scene.

It’s understood a portion of Plume Street was cordorned off shortly after the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
