Nominate: Top experts to help Geelong region year 12s get ready for formal

As formal season approaches for Geelong’s year 12s, it is time to find out who the region’s top experts for getting ready and pampered are.

The Geelong Addy is asking readers to nominate the best hair stylists, make up artists, spray tanners, nail technicians and lash and brow technicians to make it easier for students wanting to glam up for their big night.

Sandra Tomasevic, of Sandra Tomasevic Makeup Artistry, was voted the best makeup artist in the 2023 formal guide.

She said formal season made for a very busy time of year.

“My favourite part is meeting the girls and glamming them up,” she said.

Ms Tomasevic said when she won the best make-up artist category she was surprised.

“There were a lot of big names on the list and to be chosen, as one of the smaller businesses, was humbling,” she said.

“My favourite part of the job is making connections, meeting people and having repeat clients.”

Full name and place of work are needed to be considered as nominations.

Once all nominations are in, reader voting to choose our top professionals from each category will open on Thursday and close on Monday at 9am, with the winners announced soon after.

The Addy will also announce up to five other top-rating professionals from each category from our poll of readers.

We have relaunched the Best of Geelong series to help our readers discover the incredible businesses and individuals in our community. The way it works is in three stages:

1. We put out an initial call for nominations over a two-day period. This happens on our various social media accounts as well as on our website.

2. After nominations close we open the voting stage on our website. The businesses or individuals that received the highest number of nominations will progress to the voting stage. The voting stage runs for one week.

3. Once voting has closed a winner will be announced on our website usually a few days after the voting stage concludes. At the same time we will also announce up to nine other businesses with the highest amount of votes in the poll.
