Victoria Police on Friday revealed the 38-year-old was expected to be slapped with a series of charges after being caught in Lara on Wednesday.

“State Highway Patrol officers were left shaking their heads following a high-speed intercept in Lara on 30 November,” senior constable Natasha Leigh said.

“Officers observed a vehicle overtaking numerous cars in a dangerous manner on Forest Road around 3pm.

“The Holden Commodore was intercepted and clocked travelling almost twice the posted speed limit.

“The speed check alleges the vehicle travelling at 137km/h in a 70km/h zone.

“They breath-tested the driver, who returned a positive alcohol reading.

“He returned a reading of .127, more than double the legal limit.”

The driver’s Commodore was impounded at a cost of $1125, his licence was immediately suspended, and he is expected to be charged on summons with offences including drink driving, speeding and other traffic related offences.
