The Avalon airshow has increased ticket prices, brought in a charge for kids and introduced major changes to parking after its last edition was plagued with traffic chaos.

Kidsbetween the ages of five to 15 will have to pay $25 instead of entering for free like they did in 2023.

However, prior to the pandemic, it cost $32 per child.

Tickets for the 2025 show, to be held between March 28 and 30, are now officially on sale and the event promises to be “bigger and better”.

Adult general admission tickets were previously $89 and are now $98, while one day gold price tickets used to be $220 and are now $245.

Avalon Australian International Airshow 2025 has introduced new park and ride options to simplify getting to and from the site after the sold-out 2023 event was hit with complains of four-hour long traffic congestion

Airshow chief executive Justin Giddings said he wanted to make sure aviation enthusiasts could arrive stress-free with the introduction of the new transportation options.

Attendees travelling from both Melbourne and Geelong will now be able to park at designated locations close to the event, then board shuttle buses to Avalon, which will run continuously throughout the day.

There will also be shuttles from Lara station for those who take the V/Line.

“In addition to this, we heard your feedback and are thrilled to bring public viewing back to the flight line so that everyone can have a front-row seat to the action,” Mr Giddings said.

“We know airshow-goers had trouble accessing the site in 2023 as we had about 22,000 cars attempting to park at Avalon causing significant congestion.

“Our top priority for next year’s event is to roll out a revamped traffic management plan, reducing onsite car numbers by over half while offering quick, easy alternative travel options.”

Mr Giddings said he was excited for the Avalon Australian International Airshow to launch in a bigger and better way in 2025.

“We have listened to our attendees and brought in some new measures, as well as bringing back some old favourites, to ensure that all guests have the best experience possible.”

Tickets are on sale now via Ticketek and further ticketing information can be found at www.airshow.com.au/the-airshow/2025-event/ticketing
