A man has been charged with trying to fire a gun at a woman during a domestic violence assault at a NSW home.

A man has been charged with trying to shoot a woman in a domestic violence incident in NSW’s west.
Police were called to a unit on Victoria St, Parkes just after 10pm on Tuesday, where officers were told a 28-year-old man had allegedly assaulted a 20-year-old woman.
The man allegedly tried to fire a gun at her during the assault, NSW Police say.
Further police were called to the scene, but the man had already fled.
Police will allege the man and woman were known to one another.
Police allegedly seized a gun and stash of ammunition when they searched the unit.
The woman was been taken to Parkes Hospital for treatment.
Her alleged attacker was arrested after attending the Parkes police station shortly after midday on Wednesday.
He was charged with intentionally choke etc. person without consent (DV), common assault, use etc. offensive weapon with intent commit indictable offence, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, attempt to discharge firearm etc intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV) and possess ammunition without holding license/permit/authority.
He was refused bail to appear before Cowra Local Court on Thursday.
