Machete-wielding man charged as two rushed to hospital with serious injuries in Melbourne’s northwest
Two people have been rushed to hospital after allegedly being attacked with a machete, just a month after the suburb was rocked by another violent incident.

Two people have been seriously injured after the were allegedly attacked by a machete-wielding man in Melbourne’s northwest.
Police were called to Caroline Springs about 10pm on Saturday after reports a man had allegedly damaged cars and wielded a machete outside a Hopetoun Green address.
When officers arrived they were told two people had been injured. A 54-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 21-year-old Caroline Springs man allegedly refused to exit a nearby property, with police on-scene negotiating with him before he surrendered to police about 11.30pm.
He was arrested and has since been charged with two counts of intentionally cause injury, two counts of criminal damage and one count of affray.
The 21-year-old was remanded and is set to front bail court on Sunday.
The incident follows a month on from an alleged stabbing at Caroline Springs Shopping Centre.
Emergency services were called to the centre on August 1 after armed offenders allegedly stabbed a teenager in a laneway, with the teen rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Just a day later a man waskilled in a shootingin the neighbouring suburb of Burnside Heights in what police believe was a targeted attack.
