THE clothes of a missing 22-year-old man have been found down a bush track on Magnetic Island as police continue to investigate his disappearance.

Ben Chisholm has been missing since Wednesday, 13 July, at about 10am in Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island.

Emergency services focused their search efforts on the Arcadia area on the weekend following reports from the public he had been seen walking towards the local trails around 11.30am on the day he went missing.

Mr Chisholm’s older sister Shiralee Rosario said his shirt and hat were found about 1.5km up the Manderlay Ave bush track in Nelly Bay that heads towards Alma Bay on Thursday.

She said the track had been closed off while search teams comb the area and her family is asking that island locals to be on the look out for her missing brother.

“We still need help!” she said.

“At this point we need our little community to come together to search this island top to bottom please if you live near bushland have a look.

Around our beaches please, if you have a tinny and can search around the Five Beach Bay’s area, check that area. Please check any unoccupied boats or holiday houses also all our bush tracks.

Multiple agencies, including the State Emergency Service (SES), Rural Fire Service, Parks and Wildlife, and the QGAir Rescue 521 Helicopter, assisted police in searching the area on the weekend, but he still had not been found as of 4pm on Sunday.

Mr Chisholm has not been in contact with his family since last Wednesday.

The behaviour is considered out of character by those close to him, and his family have expressed concerns for his wellbeing.

Ben is described as caucasian in appearance, about 170cm tall, medium build and long, light-brown hair.

He was dressed in shorts and a dark green long-sleeved pull over. Investigators urge Ben, or anyone with information of his whereabouts, to contact police.
