CONTROVERSIAL “alt-right” YouTube star Lauren Southern has had her visa application to visit Australia rejected.
The Australian High Commission denied Ms Southern’s visa on the eve of her scheduled speaking tour.
The Canadian, 23, who was to tour with fellow right wing speaker Stefan Molyneux, has been an outspoken advocate against immigration, Islam and the LGBTI community.
Ms Southern was advised only hours before her scheduled departure that she was not eligible for an Australian Electronic Travel Authority and was instead advised to apply for a visitors visa.
The activist, who counts fellow conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos as a counterpart, has announced a speaking tour of Sydney and four other Australian capital cities in July.
In a video posted to YouTube promoting her visit, Ms Southern said Australians are “at a crossroads”.
“Do you want to retain your culture, do you want to retain your borders, family, identity,” she said.
“Or will the boats keep coming, will the no-go zones keep growing and will you become another victim of multiculturalism.”
Ms Southern was banned from entering the UK in March after antagonising Muslims by displaying flyers reading “Allah is a Gay God” and “Allah is trans”.
She claimed the stunt was part of a social experiment to prove Islam is a homophobic religion.
She also courted controversy by trying to block Italian search-and-rescue boats which were dispatched to go to the aid of shipwrecked migrants in the Mediterranean.
