Top performing Tweed NAPLAN schools revealed in past 5 years

The best performing schools in the Tweed have been revealed. SEE THE RESULTS

An independent analysis of five years of NAPLAN results has revealed the schools in the Tweed which consistently performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests between 2017 and 2021.

Over that five-year period, Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, in Terranora, had higher Year 5 yearly results than any other school in the Tweed, scoring an average of 2617.3 each year.

St Ambrose Catholic Primary School in Pottsville was the second best for the region with an average score of 2615.5, while Mount St Patrick Primary School in Murwillumbah was the third best with an average score of 2561.0.

The top performing Year 9 school was Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, in Terranora, where the average yearly result was 3031.25 over the five years.

Lindisfarne principal Stuart Marquardt said “We are delighted by the strong NAPLAN results achieved by our students”.

“The results come about as we strive for continuous improvement and build a strong teaching and learning culture” he said.

“I congratulate our students on their continued progress, the staff on their excellent teaching, and our parent community for their ongoing support.”

Mount St Patrick College in Murwillumbah was the second best for the region with an average score of 2944.5, while St Joseph‘s College in Banora Point was the third best with an average score of 2908.5.

To determine how each school performed between 2017 and 2021, their average scores for each year were combined and the yearly average found.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled in either year, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects in either year were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government‘s MySchool website.

– St James‘ Primary School: 2529.3

– Sathya Sai College: 2517.5

– Terranora Public School: 2514.3

– Dungay Public School: 2508.5

– Kingscliff Public School: 2496.0
