UBER has shared its data for 2017, revealing how, when and where Aussies are using the ride-sharing app — and also what food we’re ordering through UberEats when we get the munchies.

BE Uber careful when there’s a big sporting event in this country.

The popular ride-sharing app has revealed its data for 2017, which showed the most Uber trips in a single day nationwide were on Saturday September 30, the same day as the AFL Grand Final between the Adelaide Crows and the Richmond Tigers.

It is well-known that Uber uses surge pricing when its algorithm detects high demand within an area, with some people reporting they’ve been charged triple than normal at the time of a large scale event.

Luckily the app was handing out subsidised rides to Melburnians on Grand Final day or it could’ve been a costly one for many people.

The data revealed Australians also don’t mind a drink during the country’s big sporting events, with UberEats data showing the most popular day for food deliveries was the day after October 22, which was the round the Aussies beat the Kiwis in a Bledisloe Cup match.

It seems despite the ever-evolving food trends on offer, we haven’t become all that cultured when it comes to culinary choices, with the stock standard hot chips the most delivered dish of the year across the country.

Saturday was the most popular day to ride across the year, while 11pm was the in-demand time, and we tend to be most hungry at 6pm on a Friday.

The most food delivered in a single order was in Melbourne and cost $1570, which consisted of eight cheeseburgers, seven smoked salmons, seven steak sandwiches, $600 worth of caviar, Chevre and six Bombe Alaskas.
