Influencer and businesswoman Tammy Hembrow’s marriage has become a hot topic after she reverted back to her maiden name on Instagram just four months after marrying Matt Zukowski.
Hembrow tied the knot with Love Island alum Zukowski in November in a lavish Bryon Bay ceremony, covered by Vogue, where she wore a pink Vera Wang wedding gown.
She told the publication that they were “inseparable from the first date” and that there were plenty of happy tears on their wedding day.
Afterwards, she changed her last name to Zukowski on Instagram, where she has more than 17 million followers.
She’s now reverted back to Hembrow on her Instagram account — however she still has the name “Mrs Zukowski” written in her Instagram bio.
Nevertheless, the name change has the internet abuzz, with fans speculating it could mean the marriage is already over.
Increasing the speculation is the fact she hasn’t responded to any fans questioning her about the name change.
She’s also been posting on social media that she’s staying at Gold Coast resort with her three children and her husband hasn’t featured in any of her social media content.
The subtle name change was enough to get people talking.
“Wow that was fast,” one mused.
“What happened to Matt?” another asked.
“Single Tammy incoming,” one speculated.
Someone else argued that it “makes sense” for her to change her name back because she’s established a brand for herself, and reverting back might have nothing to do with her marriage and simply just be a business decision.
Another observed that after the name change, there was “no Matt to be seen” on her social media, and others claimed they were “shocked” to see her ditch the last name.
Others online slammed the “obsession” people have with the fitness influencer and argued that not every little thing she does should be dissected online.
Hembrow meanwhile has been posting bikini photos, and dancing with her kids on TikTok but hasn’t addressed her marriage.
The 30-year-old, who has a reported net worth of over $50 million, divided fans in October 2024 when she announced she’d be taking Zukowski’s last name.
Hembrow never confirmed if she’d just changed her name online or if it was an official legal change, but the fact she’d be going by “Mrs Zukowski” sparked a fair bit of debate.
At the time, one fan wrote, “Tammy Zukowski just doesn’t hit,” and Hembrow wrote back, “It does for me.”
“This is not it,” another complained, and someone else said they’d “miss” her going by Hembrow but were ultimately happy for her.
Someone else said they loved seeing the influencer in her wifey era, and someone else wrote that Tammy Zukowski has a “nice ring to it”.
Considering it used to be almost a given a woman would take a man’s last name, the fact that there was any negative comments at all just shows how much times have changed.
Zukowski has in the past complained about the fact the couple are constantly plagued with break-up rumours, on his podcast Where’s Your Head At, that he co-hosts with Anna McEvoy.
He claimed that whenever he is in Melbourne for more than a day without his wife the “internet loses their minds” and think they’ve gotten divorced or are breaking up.
“We’re married, happily married, I can come down and work and stay in Melbourne,” he said.
“I’ve got, you know, obviously friends here, work here, so I stay here. There’s nothing wrong with that.
“And she, my wife, stays up and sees the kids, takes them to school and all that and works.”
