Her life might look to be all glamour and glitz, but the Dancing With The Stars favourite Courtney Act loves nothing more than kicking back on the weekend with a visit to the local markets and some quality takeaway with friends.

The performer loves living in Elizabeth Bay with its close access to fun, food and gorgeous sites.

Early riser or Saturday sleep-in?

Deffo sleep-in.

Best place to go on a Saturday to catch up with friends?

The Kings Cross Markets are a great Saturday morning stomp. They have yummy acai bowls and corn fritters.

Favourite park?

Beare Park is great for a picnic, Rushcutters is great for a stroll, but actually the best would have to be a wander through the Botanic Gardens, around Lady Macquarie’s Chair and up to the Opera House. Never gets old.

Local coffee haunt?

Room Ten on Llankelly Place has great coffee and the staff are lovely.

Best spot for date night?

Lady Chu in Potts Point is sooooo yum. You might remember Miss Chu from back in the day? Well she is back and the food is just as good and Lady Chu is just as iconic. So many vegan options too. The coconut pandan is a must for dessert.

Favourite takeaway?

It’s also really good for a date night, if you’re out to impress, and it’s not somewhere you would think of as “takeaway” but I picked up Cho Cho San the other week as I was having a dinner party and didn’t want to cook and it was so glamorous and delicious. I’m never cooking for a dinner party again, but make sure you order a double serve of the miso eggplant.

Where and when do you exercise?

I go to Savage gym with my trainer Kenny. I don’t work well unsupervised and he’s helped me achieve my “pecs for 40” goal! Also I do enjoy a Barry’s Bootcamp here and there.

Best hidden treasure in NSW?

Mum and Dad’s place up in Murwillumbah.

Favourite place to holiday in NSW?

Kinda obvious but I did have a lovely holiday in Byron … could have been the company I was with too. Great restaurants, beaches, hikes, and we even jumped out of a plane.

What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday?

Wake up around 9am, toddle up to the gym, then the markets with some friends. North Bondi with a Funky Pies on the way home. Pre-drinks at my place and then to Poof Doof with my mates to dance the night away.
