Shocking moment hairdresser drags 15yo across salon floor

A hairdresser is facing assault charges after sharing a clip of herself dragging her teen client across the floor of her salon.

A hairstylist is facing criminal charges after posting a shocking video that shows her dragging a 15-year-old client across her salon floor after an argument over a $150 bill (AU$238).

The hairdresser, Jayla Cunningham, 18, from Maryland in the US, is facing second-degree assault charges, according to FOX5.

In the clip, she’s seen pulling the girl down the hardwood floors of a hallway by the hood of her jumper before forcefully yanking the teen into a room.

“Sit right here until somebody sends it,” Ms Cunningham is heard telling the teen, potentially talking about the money that she is owed.

“I’m not f***ing playing. You just tried to f***ing run,” she continues. “You lucky I ain’t beat the s**t out [of] you”.

According to the publication, Ms Cunningham claims the teen tried to run out of her salon without paying for the service, which included hair extensions.

She claims that her client said she sent the money to the wrong bank account.

“She ran without paying me,” Ms Cunningham claimed. “I dragged her by her hood back into the salon until I could get paid or, you know, until the police come or until, you know, she let me take out the service, because it’s like she literally ran outside, like she was about to be gone.

“I feel like if I didn’t do that, she would have been gone and I would have just never been paid.”

It’s not clear whether the teen ended up paying for the service, but Ms Cunningham allegedly cut the extensions out of the girl’s hair.

The girl’s mother said her child is now “traumatised” by the ordeal and is “not good at all” after the footage went viral.

She maintains that her daughter accidentally sent the payment to the wrong account and wasn’t trying to steal from the hairdresser.

“The video is horrendous. It’s a 15-year-old girl. We’re talking about someone’s child here — a child who is being dragged across a salon floor by her jacket for over something as simple as a mistake,” an attorney representing the 15-year-old said.

Ms Cunningham will appear in court on April 18.
