Sad story behind Aussie’s ‘sickening’ pic

The biggest tour of all time has wrapped up after 21 months — but one Aussie has revealed a key moment that has stuck with her.

Taylor Swift reportedly awards $197 million in bonuses to The Eras Tour crew

One of the biggest tours of all time has wrapped up after 21 months — but one Aussie has revealed a key moment that has stuck with her.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour had its final show in Vancouver in December after close to two years of touring. The show was held in Australia in February.

Karina Irby, the woman behind Moana Bikini, was one of the thousands of Aussies who attended the show. She was excited. But, her outfit caught the attention of all the wrong people.

The 33-year-old’s outfit was inspired by Swift’s Reputation album and consisted of a black sequined backless bodysuit with long sleeves and “rep” written across the chest in white.

She finished the look with a black handbag, two pairs of stockings and chunky boots.

However, one social media user was less than impressed with Ms Irby’s outfit and took to the comment section to unleash on the popular influencer with a disgusting tirade.

“If you think your outfit is similar to Taylor’s you’re delusional,” the angry commenter began.

“Hers actually have some coverage and are full of boyleg cut – not a fkn (sic) high rise full on g banger Brazilian. You have NO class and no respect and it’s sickening.

“Wear this s**t on your OnlyFans, not a concert filled with kids.”

The commenter, who Ms Irby revealed was a woman, wasn’t the only one who shamed her for her outfit, with another saying, “Wtf is that outfit? Like … why?”

Ms Irby hit back at the time. Looking back, she isn’t surprised by the outrage.

“Looking back, it doesn’t upset me or phase me too much. I am just glad that I got to go there and experience it,” she told news.com.au.

“If anything it’s good I gave people something to talk about. Maybe they hadn’t heard about Taylor and now they’ve found her. Maybe I’ve done them a favour!”

Ms Irby is no stranger to being on the receiving end of backlash on social media. Whether it’s people not liking her body positive messaging, dancing in a swimsuit in front of her step dad or saying she doesn’t want kids — Ms Irby has copped criticism.

But the response to her outfit for Swift’s show is up there as one of the worst moments she’s had. Ms Irby said she doesn’t often go out besides home and work, and so she was “set back” by the response she got.

“People didn’t know the backstory. When I was looking for the body suit, I was so nervous to even wear it because I have quite a curvy figure,” she said.

“When I tried it on, I said to everybody at work, ‘People are going to call me out for wearing this.’ But, I thought if I wore it with two sets of stockings it would be fine.”

She said her thought process was already there. So, when she copped the backlash, she wasn’t surprised. However, she was shocked as she wasn’t exposing a lot of skin.

Ms Irby added she was one of a million people who was wearing a body suit for the concert. She said the people who had something to say clearly had no idea what the Eras was about, and that Swift herself wore body suits in the show.

At the time, Ms Irby took to her social media and said her followers should “never let anyone dim your sparkle”.

“I never would have thought my love and fandom would cause such a stir online. I low key thought you’d all be happy for me having such a lovely experience and sharing it. Ahhh the internet,” she said, sharing a screengrab of the critic’s expletive-ridden comment.

Now, the Eras Tour may be over. However, that hasn’t dimmed Ms Irby’s love for Swift — particularly the singer’s Reputation era. Ms Irby said that when Swift announces the re-recording of Reputation, she will break out the body suit and wear it all day.
