Robert Irwin being trolled for being a good son is proof we need to grow up
"He lost his dad at a young age, and now they're telling him to stop spending time with his mum? What's wrong with people?"

Here's some (fake) news we didn't know until now... apparently, it's not very cool to be close to your mum.
No, that's not another silly Gen Z 'rule' that has been bestowed upon Millenials like the brutal banning of ankle socks. It's something that has been noted on Robert Irwin's Instagram posts.
Let us explain.
Never one to shy away from posting about how much he loves his mum (dream child right there, folks!), Robert recently returned from a trip to the US with mum Terri.
He wrapped up the holiday with a series of lovely snaps of the pair together, and instead of loving each one for the wholesome content that it was, the online trolls unleashed on the Wildlife Warrior.

Trolls poke fun at Robert's relationship with his mum
Nasty keyboard warriors were out in force poking fun at Robert's super-tight bond with his mum, with some claiming that the two have found it rather hard to cut that umbilical cord.
“Is Robert and his mother joined at the hip?" one person asked, while also pointing out that Terri is in "every pic" of Robert.
Well, no she's not, but OK.
Then came another unnecessary comment: "Why yo momma always gotta be with you everywhere you go?"
And then another claimed that being a 20-year-old man, Robert "needs to see the world by himself."
OK, enough! I'm not giving any more comments like this any more airtime. Not on this page!

OK, it's time to grow up people!
Of course, not everyone was hating on the fact that Robert was close to his single mother.
Plenty chimed in to defend the new host of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! with some reminding people not to be so critical, and others sharing how "precious" life is.
Let's not forget this young lad lost his dad when he was just three years old. His mother is the only parent he has. Grow up, people!

Taking this "news" to a team of parents, it's no surprise that many defended Robert.
"It irks me to be honest. I think it's really cruel and sad to make fun of someone for spending time with their mum. He lost his dad at a young age, and now they're telling him to stop spending time with his mum? What's wrong with people?" Ally said.
"People hate toxic masculinity men, f**kboys and players who usually don't have a close relationship their mum. Then when a man is a 'mummas boy', seems respectful, nice and family-orientated, we want to sh*t on them too?! For once, I find myself saying, give the men a break!" El added.
And Clara added: "These people are reaching, honestly. Not sure why it is a problem. Having a relationship as an adult with your parents is healthy!"
And then came Emily, who insisted people need to check themselves.
"If people spent less time on social media and more time with their own mums, maybe they would have nicer things to say. Are you supposed to sever ties with your parents once you're in your 20s? I hope not because I'm 38 and have no plans on stopping seeing my mum any time soon!" she said.
Amen to that!

Find yourself a son like Robert Irwin
If I can speak generally, but I'm fairly confident in people agreeing with me here, it's every mother's dream to have a child who ADORES them just as much as we do them. Raising respectful, kind, loving men is what we aim for in this crazy parenting journey.
And forgive me if you don't agree, but it appears as though Terri has done just that with her only son.
Robert not only shares many happy moments with his mother on social media, he is also not afraid to gush about how amazing she is to the world.
Back on International Women's Day, Robert paid tribute to his mother with a pic on Instagram of the pair along with the caption: "Happy International Women’s Day! My biggest role model in life is this amazing woman right here, my mum."
He also took the time on Mother's Day to, again, send a message of love with a gallery of pictures. "Happy Mother’s Day! Love you, Mum 🧡," he captioned the post.
If posts like this attract hate, my hunch is that perhaps it's people's relationships with their own mothers that need to be checked, not this one. #peace
