Billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz-Beckham and Brooklyn Beckham have left people shaking their heads at the antics of “rich people” after documenting the novelty of catching public transport.
For non-billionaires, catching public transport is more mundane than anything else, but the 30-year-old daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz turned it into quite the social activity.
When the heiress found herself catching the tube in London, instead of quietly hopping on, head down, wearing headphones and avoiding eye contact at all costs, she took a more Martin Scorsese approach and filmed the whole outing.
The 30-year-old’s tube experience included being filmed walking downstairs, waving while on the platform, playfully flicking her hair and smiling broadly.
She even included a shot of her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, grabbing her on the bum.
Most commuters are just trying to make it home on time and unscathed, but the heiress had turned her tube ride into a date night.
The public transport antics didn’t end there. Peltz-Beckham, who is also an actress and filmmaker, then filmed her mate running through carriages on the tube as if he were a track star.
She also filmed herself using the train like a catwalk and did some up-and-down walking. It was quite the spectacle.
To really make the content sing on social media, she also used the song “London Bridge” by Fergie. Get it? because she’s in London and acting like a local.
The Bates Motel star’s public transport antics were met with confusion online from followers.
“Rich people,” one sighed.
“Did you buy the train?” another asked.
“It is funny how for them it’s an aesthetic and a jolly ride and for the rest of us daily hard reality,” someone one else pointed out.
“It is lucky you have rich parents,” another said.
“I strive to be this clueless,” someone joked.
Not everyone was riled up by Nicola’s subway ride. Some claimed there was nothing to “hate” about the video, and others claimed that Nicola and Brooklyn were “couple goals.” Another said, “People are so bitter,” before pointing out she’s just having fun.
Nicola lives quite a charmed life.
She was born into a billion-dollar empire, became an actor, and married Brooklyn Beckham, the son of David and Victoria Beckham.
She has over 3 million followers on Instagram, is close friends with Selena Gomez, and loves to wear matching outfits with her chef husband, Brooklyn. Although he didn’t go to culinary school, he once used a blowtorch to toast a sandwich.
Nicola’s father made his fortune initially by working for his dad’s wholesale food distribution company, A Peltz and Sons, and then later by founding Trian Partners, an alternative investment management fund.
He is also a non-executive chairman of Wendy’s, Sysco, and The Madison Square Garden Company and a former director of H.J. Heinz Company.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn’s parents, Victoria and David Beckham, are estimated to be worth over $800 million combined and are one of the most famous couples in the world.
The former professional soccer player and the former Spice Girls band member turned fashion designer married in 1999 and have four children together.
Although both Brooklyn and Nicola are from mega wealthy families, in 2023, she told Cosmopolitan that they were saving for their dream home.
‘We did have a house in LA at one point, but we sold it because we were like, ‘Oh, we’re going to go to Florida for a while’. And then we’re like, ‘No, just kidding, we have to be in LA for work.’ It was so silly of us.’
“Now we’re saving up money to get our dream house. But we both honestly love New York so much. If our work was there, we’d be there in five seconds,” she said.
