A retail manager has been praised for sticking up for her staff after she pulled aside a delivery driver and set out some ground rules.

A retail manager at a lingerie store has been praised for sticking up for her staff after she pulled aside a delivery driver and set out some ground rules.

In a video shared to TikTok, the New Zealand woman can be seen addressing the delivery worker, saying she wanted to make one thing “really, really clear”.

“There is to be no discussion with my team about products that you see, products that you think will look good on them — absolutely nothing,” the woman declared.

The driver quickly agreed and tried to move on but the woman halted him.

“You are to come in, drop the boxes, put your tablet on the counter, she will sign it and you will leave,” she said.

The woman went on to clarify in the comment section that she worked in a lingerie store, and claimed the man tried to get staff to play “sex dice” with him. She also claimed he asked what type of lingerie the staff like.

Commenters were quick to praise the woman for her “mumma bear” energy, with some even sharing their own similar experiences.

“The way he just agreed means he knew exactly what he’d been doing wrong,” one social media user commented.

Another said: “And THIS IS CALLED A GREAT MANAGER! great work I wanna work there!”

“I work in a pharmacy had a delivery driver continually try to flirt and chat with staff, one day he walked into our office closed the door trying to chat to the girl he fixated on,” one revealed.

“And my boss called the supplier and had him removed from our area and possibly fired, he always pushed the boundaries — it’s so unhinged.”

Another commented: “Manager of the year!!! Well done love! He knew he was in the wrong because he didn’t even try to argue.”

“As a retail manager myself, you did everything right, this is absolutely unacceptable on his part. We love a queen who takes these things seriously,” one said.

Another social media user added: “Thank you for looking out for your staff — I was harassed at work when I was young and my manager gaslit me about the whole thing. It’s very healing to see you supporting your staff.”

Last year, the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) introduced a legal framework called Positive Duty to make businesses and organisations create preventive policies around sexual harassment, rather than only deal with issues after a complaint has been made.

AHRC sex discrimination commissioner Dr Anna Cody said as the framework was introduced: “Gender equality and respect are at the core of eliminating sexual harassment and other unlawful, systemically insidious behaviours from the workplace.

“The incoming, groundbreaking inclusion of a positive duty is a systemic response to an ongoing problem.

“It requires organisations and businesses to take reasonable steps to prevent incidents from occurring in the first place. This is far more effective than any reactive approach.”

Complaints about sexual harassment in the workplace can also be made to each state or territories’ Safe Work organisation. In the last financial year, Safe Work NSW had more than 100 reports of sexual harassment in the workplace made to the organisation.
