Short funky nails
Sorry Khloe Kardashian, but according to the latest trending nail-related search terms, short manicures are officially in for the remainder of 2024. As the newest trends show, people are longing for practical and lasting nail shapes and designs, opting for shorter tips over exaggerated acrylics. But despite cutting down on length, salon-goers are still requesting funky, and colourful nail art to elevate their manicures, with searches for ‘Short funky nails’ up 1,540 per cent.
Bow nail designs
Clearly one of the most popular nail art search terms across Pinterest, bow nail designs has increased in popularity by 2,220 per cent. The feminine designs – ranging from subtle accent bows to bright eye-catching ones are an adorable choice for almost every colour scheme or base shade, allowing nail technicians and DIY home artists to express their creativity.
Japanese-inspired nails
With the research term increasing by 600 per cent, Japanese-inspired nail designs are set to be one of the staple styles this season. With nail art ranging from adorable hand-drawn designs to 3D embellishments, Japanese-inspired nails are all about embracing your inner creativity and having fun with the process.
Greek goddess nails
Inspired by ethereal Greek mythology and the dreamy aesthetic of ancient Greece, Greek goddess nails are rapidly gaining popularity, with Pinterest reporting a search increase of 1,975 per cent. Usually using neutral tones as a base, Greek goddess nails are defined by intricate nail art with accents of gold and white. It’s the perfect mani to pair with gold jewellery – especially dainty ring stacks.
Cherry red nails
Showing the largest increase in search volume (3,335 per cent) is an absolute classic manicure choice. Cherry red nails are set to dominate the spring trends in the coming months, with salon-goers predicted to embrace the sultry shades wholeheartedly. As the name suggests, cherry red nails aim to mimic the natural tones of nature’s favourite stone fruit, with colours ranging from deep rouge (as pictured above) to brighter variations of the fruit.
