Young girl caught chugging her mum’s can of beer puts the internet in a tizzy

“Not an iPad in sight; she’s living in the moment.”

A clip of a young girl at a football game has gone viral after she was spotted secretly chugging her mother’s beer. 

Attending an NFL game in the US, the young girl, who’s roughly four years old, was sitting alongside her mum and another child watching the Texas Longhorns take on the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks. 

While everyone else in the stadium was there to watch the game - online, all eyes were on the little girl.

“Toddler drinking is really bad”

In the now-viral clip, which was uploaded on TikTok, the little girl was seen holding a stubbie with a can of something, presumably a beer,  in both of her hands.

Suddenly, she lifted the can to her mouth and started drinking the beverage inside.

All the while, the woman next to her, who is understood to be the child’s mother, was distracted by something in her bag and not paying attention to the child. 

As the woman bent over to get her belongings, the child kept sipping away, lifting the can upwards as she skulled whatever was inside.

At one point, the little girl looked at the adult as she continued to sip; the woman was completely unaware the child was drinking all her beer.

“Toddler drinking is really bad,” the caption read. 

It didn’t take long for people to work out what drink the child was consuming - likely a can of Michelob Ultra, a light beer with 4.2 per cent alcohol content. 

According to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the time the mother lifted her head and asked for her can of beer back, she was surprised to find the beverage almost all gone. 

After spotting the child skulling the beer, the woman who originally filmed the video informed the mother what she saw. 

“We [told the mum], but by that point, she needed a new beer,” she explained.

“She’s not even pretending like it’s her first beer”

The video amassed more than 5.6 million views and more than 3,00 comments. Many argued the child was totally fine drinking that brand of beer since it was “basically water”.

Many sarcastically congratulated the parents for not keeping their children glued to a screen. 

One comment read: “Finally, a kid not using an iPad.” 

“Not an iPad in sight; she’s living in the moment,” said another. 

“She’s supervised! It’s fine,” someone wrote. “They grow up so fast,” laughed another. 

Others marvelled at the way the 4yo chugged the drink, not once spitting the beer out or second-guessing her decision. It was obvious this was not her first time taking a swig. 

“That child definitely has experience drinking,” a person wrote online. “Any normal child would have spit it out as soon as they tasted it.”

“That kid has had a few beers before,” another agreed. “She’s not even pretending like it’s her first beer.”
