A former Neighbours star has revealed she has given birth to the baby she was expecting with her stepbrother.
Scarlet Vas, who played Mishti Sharma in Neighbours until her character left the show in October 2018, took to Instagram to announce she’d given birth.
“Our Christmas miracle has finally arrived. Merry Christmas from our family to yours,” she captioned the image.
It showed Ms Vas and her husband Tayo Ricci cuddling their baby, who had a love heart emoji over its face. A second image showed the three holding hands.
The post didn’t give away anything about the baby’s name. However Mr Ricci did say they had welcomed a baby girl.
Many social media users wished the couple congratulations on their news.
“You are going to be the best dad,” one revealed.
Another social media user commented: “The most beautiful family, and the best way for me to wake up on Christmas.”
One added: “The most beautiful little baby smush. Love you both so much.”
“No way! A Christmas miracle!!! So happy for you both! Sending love your way,” another commented.
One social media user commented: “Awww you all look so happy and cute together! Be happy and proud to be parents! Lots of the best wishes and hugs from Australia.”
“Congratulations. A very special day,” one commented.
Another commented: “Wow! Congratulations. welcome to your new world baby.”
Ms Vas announced her pregnancy after marrying her stepbrother Mr Ricci in a $500,000 Mykonos wedding in September 2023.
Ms Vas and Mr Ricci met as teenagers in Melbourne, and later became “family” when their parents got together. However, they haven’t revealed the exact details of their connection — but have always stressed they are not blood related. They first went viral in 2021 after announcing they’d fallen in love.
But Ms Vas said, despite some calling their relationship “weird” and “gross”, they never let the critics get to them.
“Honestly, it doesn’t affect us because we have each other,” she told news.com.au previously.
“I don’t really read our comments section, but if I do, I actually laugh. We find trolls very entertaining.
“If something’s really negative, we might comment back, we find it is quite a good disarming tactic.”
After leaving the popular soap opera in 2018 Ms Vas began creating content for OnlyFans — a platform typically used by adult entertainers. However, she has stressed she is “not a porn star of any kind”.
She claims to make $200,000 a month on the platform.
