Weeks after the country launched a heated debate about bringing babies to a comedy show, a parent in France is facing fierce backlash after bringing their baby to a Taylor Swift concert.
A woman attending the Taylor Swift Eras Tour, which is currently in Paris for its European leg, made her way to the pit of the arena, ready to sing and dance the night away.
But what she saw as she arrived left her horrified.

Baby spotted on the floor of Taylor Swift concert
In a since-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), a woman shared a snap of the floor of the La Défense Arena in Paris.
Attached was an image of a small baby lying on the arena floor, with several adults standing over them.

It appears the child was wearing sound-blocking headphones and laid on a purple fur coat, which was directly on the floor, next to a bag with Taylor Swift merchandise and a stack of empty cups.
“Not to be one of those people, but I would genuinely call security if I saw a baby in the pit because it is NOT safe there,” the caption read.
The person who originally shared the post later confirmed they did not take the photo, so it is unclear whether the child was accompanied by their parents or guardian.
It is also unclear what time the photo was taken during the concert.

Speaking to Page Six, a spokesperson for La Défense Arena said the parents who bought the tickets were offered seats but "refused" to accept the offer.
“[The] general terms and conditions of sale stipulate that all minors (without any age limit) holding a ticket for a concert at Paris La Défense arena must be accompanied by an adult.
“Under 18 children remain under their legal guardian responsibility, it’s venue policy.
“For spectators with a young child [on] the floor, an alternative seating arrangement has been proposed but refused by ticket holders.”

“One wrong move and that baby is severely hurt”
Another image of the child on the floor, obtained by TMZ, quickly went viral, with spectators and Swifties outraged at the thought of bringing a baby to the floor area of a concert.
“Someone could literally step on that poor baby!” a horrified person wrote.
“At that point, you need to stay home,” said another. “This isn’t safe and it’s scary that this parent thought it was okay.”
“One wrong move and that baby is severely hurt,” wrote a third.
The post then sparked a debate about bringing babies to concerts.
While some argued it was fine to bring infants to a show, it all comes down to the seating arrangement.
“Bringing a baby is fine in the stands. but on the floor?” a mum asked. “Absolutely not. That’s so unsafe!”
“If you have to take your child, buy a f**king seated ticket,” added another.
