Mum claims that 'nerds make the best dads and husbands'

"If he owns a light sabre, green flag," the woman says, before listing other things to look out for in a good partner.

Nerds make the best fathers. It's a fact

If you're single or dating, you may find yourself in a catch-up with your girlfriends venting about how s**t the vast majority of blokes out there are.

"Where are all the decent guys hiding these days?"

"Why do men think it's okay to ghost people, even after showing an interest?"

"How come friends X, Y and Z, managed to find husbands who actually are excited about having kids?"

If you find yourself unloading like this, you're probably on the lookout for a non-toxic, all-around good guy husband who just oozes green flags.

Well, my friend, we might just know where to find 'em - at least, according to one woman.

Why you should try and find a nerd husband

The woman took to TikTok and put this question out into the universe - "How the hell do you all find these men that are obsessed with you, good fathers, who take care of you and spoil you."

Then another TikToker, Isabel Brown, stitched the clip and answered definitively.

"They’re nerds. You go for the nerd," she said, matter-of-factly.

"It honestly blows my mind that we have this entire trope in literature and movies and TV shows about the nerdy girl who gets the glow-up when she grows up.

"She was this unsuspecting girl next door, always nose in a book. Loves fantasy series and movies girl who becomes super-hot and amazing. But we don’t say that for men."

She then gives a few ideas of green flags to look out for in a man, to scope out whether or not they could be your dream, nerdy husband.

"If he owns a light sabre, green flag," she begins.

She continues, "If he has purchased a wand from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: greenest possible flag. If he has an unhealthy relationship with Ahsoka Tano, you better run to the altar. Bonus points if he’s obsessed with Monopoly."

So, why nerds?

"Because those little underestimated nerd boys grow up to be men who see what’s in here," she explains, pointing at her heart.

Wives of nerds weighed in

In the comments, women everywhere with nerdy husbands were in agreement.

"I was watching this with my fiancé in the room and he peaked his head up and said, 'What did they say about Ahsoka Tano???'" one said.

Another wrote: "My husband: obsessed with presidents, Titanic and Twister."

Then a third chimed in, saying, "Henry Cavill is a prime example."

And someone else added this important reminder - "You have to let them stay a nerd. No making them give up the nerdy stuff."

"If he owns a LEGO set, green flag"

Meanwhile, a few nerds made themselves known.

"We’re all IN. YOUR. FRIEND. ZONE," said one.

Another replied, "YOU FORGOT THE LORD OF THE RINGS NERD."

"I own lightsaber chopsticks," said another proudly.

Even LEGO jumped in on the fun, saying, "If he owns a LEGO set, green flag."
