'I'm the only person in the class not invited. I know because she told me'

"This is what it looks like when you exclude a child ," a preschooler's mum says of her "heart broke" little girl.

Mum rants about crap in party bag

There are many things in the world that we can’t protect our children from.

One of the harshest realities is the pain of being excluded and unaccepted by others.

A mother has taken to TikTok after her daughter was the only one in her class not invited to a birthday party.

The text on the video reads, “This is what it looks like when you exclude a child.”

"Everyone else is invited"

Alyssa filmed the interaction (which does not show the child's face) while sitting in the car with her upset daughter, who explained how the girl handing out invitations told her she didn’t have one.

“Everyone else is invited,” her daughter cried in the tiniest voice.

The confession brought Alyssa to tears, too.

I debated on whether or not to share this. But my girl is just so heart broke. Raising your child to think it’s acceptable to intentionally leave out another child and make them feel less than is something I will never be ok with. Teach your babies to be kind and welcoming to everyone. I thought I would have YEARS before something like this happened but sadly here we are in VPK. #kindness #teachkindness #bekind #bullies #bully #leftout #kidsoftiktok #parentsoftiktok #momsoftiktok

“I’m sad for you, because that’s not nice. That’s not how we treat other people, right?” Alyssa tells her.

“You’re so beautiful and you’re so kind. This has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.”

Alyssa admitted she debated sharing the moment online but felt it was important to raise awareness about teaching kindness.

“Raising your child to think it’s acceptable to intentionally leave out another child and make them feel less than is something I will never be ok with. Teach your babies to be kind and welcoming to everyone,” she captioned the post.

"I'll invite her"

The clip - which has been viewed more than 20 million times - resonated with so many whose children, or themselves, had experienced similar rejection. The comments were flooded with empathy and praise for how Alyssa handled the situation.

“My heart, you’re such an incredible mom,” one commenter said.

“Mamas we ride at dawn for this little girl!” said another.

Others offered generous suggestions, including throwing her a unicorn-themed party, while a female college baseball team offered to help make her feel special.

Even mega star singer Meghan Trainor stepped in with support, writing, “I’LL INVITE HER OMG! TELL HER I LOVE HER.”

Many parents also related to the situation.

"This happened to my son. I told him the mum knew I had a special day planned already and we went to the zoo & dinner. I was heartbroken,” one mother said.

A teacher also weighed in.

“THIS is why I don’t hand out invites unless I personally count them first and then I hand them out to each kid. I will not ever have a student go through this."

In a follow-up video, Alyssa expressed her surprise at how much the experienced resonated.

“The majority of people did nothing but support my child, support me, leave us kind comments that just make you feel like there’s still really amazing people in this word,” she said.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
