How to make a DIY stick Christmas tree

Materials:

• A variety of sticks and twigs 

• A hot glue gun 

• Paintbrush 

• Glitter

• String lights

Method:

1. Construct the base tree:

   • Using the hot glue gun, stick three of the larger sticks together to form a tripod shape. This will form the base of our Christmas tree, so make sure it is even on all sides and stable. 

   • Using more of the larger sticks, hot glue them around the tripod to form a cone shape. 

2. Add twigs to fill out the tree:

   • Starting from the bottom and working your way up, layer the smaller twigs onto the base tree.

   • Try to fill in all the gaps on the base tree covering as much of the hot glue as possible. 

3. Time to decorate!

   • Once you have completed the construction of the tree, it’s time to decorate! Carefully apply a small amount of craft glue to the branches using a paint brush, then sprinkle on some glitter. You can add glitter to any spots of hot glue you can still see through the branches. 

   • You might want to add some gumnuts as natural baubles! 

4. The final touch!

   • Now that your tree is beautifully decorated, it is time to add the string lights for the final touch!
