When it came time to move our baby out of our room and into her own room, I was wracked with feelings of sadness and still miss her cot within arms reach from my bed.
Our little one would wake up through the night, and after catching a glimpse of me fast asleep, let’s just say I wasn’t left to sleep much longer.
Fast forward a month, and she’s sleeping for longer stretches, and while I miss falling asleep watching her dreaming, it was a needed and necessary step for our family.
So, when I heard about one family’s co-sleeping arrangements, I’m not going to lie, but I cringed a little.

One family's "unique" arrangements
Brandon Deal and his family have taken to TikTok to share their unique co-sleeping arrangement.
While critics raise concerns about independence, the Deal family seem to think it’s not unusual.
"We're a co-sleeping family," they say, defying common misconceptions about their sleeping arrangement.
In the video, which has been liked over 200,000 times, Brandon introduces their king-sized bed, stating, "This is our king bed. I sleep on that side. Meagan is in the middle, then little Sarah Grace right here."
"A little twin-size bed at the foot of our bed is where McKenzi sleeps. You say, 'Why does she sleep there?'" Brandon wonders. McKenzi, 12 years old, explains, "I don't know, it's a little safer."
As you can imagine, The Deal family's video went gangbusters on the social media platform.
"I can barely handle co-sleeping with my husband," one TikTok user jokes, highlighting the challenges some parents face in shared beds.

What about alone time?
Some TikTok users expressed concerns about codependency and independence. "How do you have alone time? How will Mackenzie gain independence in the future and sleep on her own?" one user asks.
In response to the critics, Brandon Deal offers assurance, "We'll get that out when we get there."
In the face of social media's scrutiny, the Deal family remains committed to their unique co-sleeping arrangement, proving that sometimes, the comfort of the family can be found right in your own bed.
As for me, I'm glad to have my room back!
