MAKE UP guru Napoleon Perdis says he has made an effort to embrace diversity in his business after being labelled “camp” and “gay” throughout his career.

Speaking at the Prix de Marie Claire awards last night, the father of four said those who didn’t support equality, including supporting same sex marriage could “all get f***ed”.

“At Napoleon Perdis I tell the girls from a young age — because I was always the camp one, the gay one, the this one, the married one,” he told the audience while on stage with daughter Lianna, “I just say to them accept people for whatever they are and celebrate them.

“We love transgender in our staffing, we love diversity, we love same sex marriage, we love different body type, we love different weight size and its time that Australia embraced that because everyone can be individual and what works for two people doesn't have to work for anyone else, they can all get f***ed, You just need to do it yourself, its really simple.”

The 47-year-old who is known for his outrageous style was dressed in a bizarre shirt with ruffled sleeves over a black tunic that reached his knees.

Perdis has previously spoken about rumours surrounding his sexuality, telling the Mail Online: “what happens in my bedroom is my own business and my wife’s business. Really you just learn to say they’re only prying because their life is boring and mines not.”

Perdis also took aim at the Australian retail industry at the awards night, saying returning to Australia made him sad because creativity is “trampled” in this country.

“Every time I come back to Australia there’s one thing that saddens me,” he added, “it’s sad to see that the creative energy that is here in Australia in such a fresh continent, fresh country, fresh air is sometimes stifled in logistics or mathematics or structure that controls you or buyers at department stores who don’t understand what they need to be doing with your brand.

“For all the marketing managers, stop adapting overseas trends, make it Australian, celebrate it, we’re f***ing hot, its amazing and thats all that matters.”

Perdis and daughter Lianna accepted the award for Best Makeup Product for his Total Bae Own It! Jet Mascara.
