These were the most popular porn searches in 2023

Ever wondered what other people are watching on porn? Thanks to PornHub's recent report, now you can snoop to your heart's content. 

Just as the cultural zeitgeist matures and grows, so too does the porn landscape. Not a sentence I ever thought I’d write, but definitely a true one. 

As trends come and go, movies are released, celebrities do things, and sex-positive dialogue develops, our tastes evolve, leading to interest that grows in certain areas, so to speak. 

Thus, when the data came to light around one porn site’s top searches this year, I thought I had a good read on what we might be in for. 

What I expected to see was a heady mix of choking, bathtub licking (I see you Saltburn), maybe some Barbie-inspired roleplay and feet-centric videos thrown in for good measure. 

 It is safe to say I was wrong. 

According to PornHub’s numbers from 2023, which looked at America’s viewing habits, the most popular category was Lesbian (which was also the top category last year), then Japanese, and Ebony in second and third place. 

Next up was Anal, MILF (Mother I’d Like to F*ck) and transgender, rounding out the top six. 

Most of these categories are firm favourites every year, and don’t see much change in terms of the order, however some tags have seen some noteworthy increase. 

Big Ass saw an increase of four, Big Dick went up by five, and BBW (Big Beautiful Woman) grew by six, while the search terms “big,” “bigger” and “biggest” collectively grew by 177% worldwide, while searches containing “huge” surged by 67%. 

This could speak to a changing preference in body type, or just ever-evolving beauty standards.

Lesbian was the top category in Australia and Canada, with the US and the African continent opting for Ebony porn, and hilariously, Russians opting for Russian porn. 

While all of these results are pretty biz-as-usual, there was also an unexpected highlight amidst 2023’s offerings: senior porn, i.e. older people. 

The ‘Mature’ category is now the seventh most viewed video type worldwide, an increase of, ironically, 69 per cent. 

Searches including the word “granny” grew by 132 per cent, and per NY Post, “GILF” (Grandma I’d Like to F*ck) spiked by 168% when compared with 2022’s numbers.

Interestingly, the Realty category saw a significant increase in 2022, but didn’t even make the list in 2023 – probably because no one can afford to live anymore. 

Meanwhile, amidst ongoing wars in Gaza and Ukraine, searches featuring the word “soldier” went up 332 per cent. 

Interestingly, searches including the word “robot” – i.e. “sex robot,” “AI robot,” and “3D robot” – grew by 304 per cent, which speaks to the omnipresence of technology in our day-to-day lives.
