How Bachelorette Brooke Blurton nourishes her mind and body

Bachelorette Brooke Blurton covers all the bases when it comes to keeping being physically and mentally happy and healthy.

New Bachelorette Brooke Blurton was packing much more than a collection of evening

gowns and a basket of roses when she entered the 2021 season of The Bachelorette.

The 26-year-old was also clinging to some sage advice that seems tailor-fitted to her

televised quest for love.

“The best advice I’ve ever been given was from a high school teacher,” she says.

“She told me to say yes to opportunities until you have to say no. I thought that was a great way to live your life by exploration and diving deep out of your comfort zone into things.

“If you don’t learn that you like something, you soon learn that you don’t.”

Replace the word ‘something’ with ‘someone’, and you’ve got a ready-made game plan for a

televised love search, right? And with all the cameras, the media attention, the audiences and the pressure that goes along with making your television debut, a game plan is going to be pretty important.

Even more important, though, is the ability to stay grounded and not feel overcome by it all.

And it’s here that Brooke says she has another strategy to keep her mind and body happy

and healthy.

“I hugely prioritise taking care of my mental health, which I think comes with looking at it

from a more holistic way,” she tells Health Hacker.

“I like to take care of myself by making sure I’m doing everything to give myself the best

nourishment, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

“I feel that these are all entwined and all need attention at different times. When I’m

nourishing my body with healthy food and exercise, I feel like my mental health is at its

peak.”

Winning the morning to win the day

“I remember watching a video about how the first task you should do every morning is make your bed as it sets you up for the rest of the day, so that’s the first thing I do. I then usually wash my face, chuck on some gym clothes and take my dog for a walk to get coffee. I live near the beach, so we always stop into the beach on the way back. I find that this always sets me for the day.”

Brooke Blurton says her motto is to be open to opportunities that come her way.

Simple wisdoms

“I feel like I have different points in my life, when I have to do something in my career or life, that I feel like it’s a bit of a slog. I’ve always been told to just get it done. It gives me that little pick me up to say, ‘yep, let’s do this’. The longer you drag it out, the longer it will

take.”

Holistic health

“I feel like I look at health and fitness from a more holistic angle, not always an exercise

view. I love dabbling into different ways of holistic living; things like acupuncture, breath

work and really just using good food to nourish my body for my mental health.”
