The 7-year-old girl who survived after being shot by her mother alongside her three sisters in a horrific murder-suicide has now tragically died.

Olivia Blackmer was left fighting for her life after sustaining critical injuries when her mum Tranyelle Harshman, from the US state of Wyoming, shot her and her three siblings at their family home last week.

The 32-year-old, whose husband claims was struggling with mental health issues, called emergency services after taking a gun out on her four daughters, before fatally shooting herself.

Olivia’s older sister Brailey, nine, and her two-year-old siblings Brooke and Jordan, all died at the scene, leaving the 7-year-old as the sole survivor of her mother’s shocking act.

However, her dad Quinn Blackmer – Harshman’s ex husband and the father of her two eldest girls – has now confirmed Olivia “had gained her angel wings” in a devastating Facebook post.

“I know this isn’t the update people were hoping for and we are absolutely gutted to make it, but we needed time to process what had happened before we let the world know of the tragic passing of Olivia on Feb 15 at 3:44pm,” Mr Blackmer wrote.

“The amount of devastation we feel and are going through is so much. Please give all families involved our time and space during this extremely difficult time in our life.”

Mr Blackmer, who had been camped at Olivia’s bedside since the horrific incident last week, said he found “peace knowing that my babies don’t have to be apart from each other” as well as with their other sisters.

Harshman’s husband, Cliff Harshman, had spoken out in the aftermath of the horrific tragedy to claim his wife had been receiving treatment for severe mental health issues, including PTSD and post-partum depression.

“My wife is not a monster,” he told the Cowboy State Daily through tears.

“Most people don’t understand how that affects the brain. It’s a chemical imbalance … And it can be exacerbated by trying to fix it with medication.”

A GoFundMe launched to help cover Olivia’s medical bills has raised $US 111,547 (about $175,470 Australian dollars) and still remains active with Mr Blackmer stating he would continue to post “updates” on the page.

“Your loss is truly unbelievable,” one wrote on it recently.

“There are no words for someone losing a child, let alone two,” said another.

The sisters, who were very close, split their lives between Wyoming with their mother and stepdad, and Utah, where they stayed with their father and stepmum, according to the family.

Police have launched an investigation, but local officers on the scene have described witnessing the horrific sight.

Keri Angell, a deputy at the local Sheriff’s office, was one of the first to enter the house. She broke down in tears as she described witnessing the horrific sight.

“Seventeen years at the sheriff’s office and working crime scenes, and you don’t ever expect something like this,” she told KRTV.
