NOW this is a cure for Mondayitis. All you can eat pizza for $20, made lovingly by Italians who won’t judge you (much) if you want pineapple on top. Happy days.

Italian restaurant group Salt Meats Cheese has launched an All You Can Eat Pizza deal on Monday nights where you can eat yourself into a cheesy food coma from 5pm until the kitchen closes around 10pm at its Broadway, Circular Quay and Drummoyne branches.

“On a Monday night, usually you’re recovering from the weekend, you’ve had a big day at work, you just want to have a bit of comfort food and go home and relax,” says owner Stefano De Blasi.

To soothe weary Sydneysiders, almost all the pizzas SMC makes will be available, from the classics like margherita, quattro formaggio, capriccioso, ham and mushroom, to the restaurant’s signature pizzas like truffle mushrooms with goat’s cheese and hot soppressa salami.

“We have a very classic menu, we don’t have the crazy weird toppings,” he said, adding that while pineapple on pizza isn’t traditional, diners are welcome to ask.

“Maybe I shouldn’t say that but actually it doesn’t taste that bad,” he said.

“Ethically it’s not correct, like chicken on pizza or pineapple on pizza. I have to say I don’t recommend it because I am Italian. But there are a lot of things we do wrong in Italy, rockmelon and prosciutto is one of them, so I don’t see why not ham and pineapple.”

Stefano says bookings are essential and recommends a group of four to make the most of the deal “because then you can try six, seven, eight different pizzas” depending on your stamina.
